Location. Conveniently sited in Ski Time Square, just 100 yards from the lifts and three blocks from the gondola, the Thunderhead Lodge and Condominiums are located in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Summer or winter, Steamboat is the place to be for outdoor recreation. Surrounded by the 1.1 million acre Routt National Forest, opportunities exist for hiking, mountain biking, fishing, horseback riding and of course skiing and snowboarding. Dozens of galleries and almost 70 bars and restaurants are positioned about town, providing off mountain entertainment. Complimentary shuttles transport guests about, and there is a "Tipsy Taxi" service provided by the local restaurant association for those who underestimate the effects of alcohol at high altitudes.
Hotel Features. An outdoor pool is located on site and there are three jetted tubs and a sauna indoor. The 24 hour front desk staff can assist with dry cleaning, concierge services and child care. The ski in/ski out lodge also features laundry facilities, a video library and safe deposit boxes at the front desk.
Guestrooms. Each of the soundproofed guest accommodations features a balcony, dial up Internet access and cable television with VCRs. Some units contain kitchens or kitchenettes.
Expert Tip. Steamboat Lake State Park, 28 miles from the resort, offers plenty of recreation options, including swimming, canoeing and boating in the summer. In the winter, the park offers ice fishing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing.
